Get To Know Your Personal Coach

What’s your go-to workout jam or favorite hype song?

It all depends on the intensity and type of workout I’m preparing for. On lower-intensity days focused on mobility and corrective exercises, I prefer "chill house" music to set the tone. However, on heavy, intense days with big lifts and dynamic movements, I’ll go with old-school rap—Biggie, 2Pac, Snoop, and the like.

Where would you rather be?

I always strive to be present in the moment, no matter where I am or who I’m with. Whether I’m training and working at the facility or spending time with my two young children and my beautiful wife, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. It may sound cliché, but I genuinely find happiness wherever I am.

What’s your cocktail of choice?

Homemade Margarita for that clean burn: 2 shots of tequila, freshly squeezed lime, and coconut water. Trust me, it’s amazing!

What has you smiling?

Without fail, my biggest smile of the day comes when I walk in my front door after the work day is done and I have a 4-year-old, a 1-year-old, and a dog greet the $hit out of me before I can even put my bag down. Fleeting moments that I will always hold close to my heart.

What’s your guilty pleasure food after a tough workout?

I’ll grab a large cutting board and assemble a bouquet of my favorite foods: steak, a variety of hard cheeses, sweet potatoes with melted grass-fed butter, an assortment of berries and nuts, sparkling water (from a glass bottle), and some Bitchin' Sauce. Utensils? Totally optional!

What’s your favorite movie quote?

Oh man, where do I even start? Here is a small sampling of some highly intellectual movie quotes that have shaped my humor over the years:

  • “Clark, that there is an RV.” - Cousin Eddie
  • “Surprised, Eddie? If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am right now.” - Clark Griswold
  • “Alright meow, do you know how fast you were going?” - Foster
  • “Good talk, Russ.” - Clark Griswold
  • “So much room for activities!” - Brennan Huff
  • “Fill it up again! Fill it up again! Once it hits your lips, it’s so good!” - Frank
  • “Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we’re going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don’t know, I don’t know if we’ll have enough time.” - Frank
  • “It’s real nice. I got it at Target. It was on sale.” - Ricky Bobby
  • “What is this?! A center for ants!” - Derek Zoolander
